American actor Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor died at home in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, per media reports.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a statement.

They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Television Career

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.

Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
