Both are being considered with the manager's job at the Premiership title holders following Brendan Rodgers' resignation on Monday. The Manager's Position on The Scottish Club The Ipswich boss referred to Celtic as "an enormous football club" but emphasized he is "in the middle" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town. The mid-thirties assumed control of Portman Road in recent years and guided the team to the English top flight with consecutive elevations, but they won just a handful of victories last season as they were relegated back to the second division and they currently sit twelfth place in England's second tier. "There have been such conversations," the English capital native former Northern Ireland youth international said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist. "It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any part of my focus is currently. "I possess a unique position here at a remarkable club. And we're at a really important phase of the season. Anything outside of that hasn't reached my radar." Context and Agreement Aspects Reports indicate that McKenna would be open to speaking to the Scottish side given his childhood support. "Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when asked about these. "I don't think everyone has to publicly and announce what they were, but of course it's a really big sports organization." The coach agreed to a new multi-year deal in last year and was asked about his reported buyout clause. "In every manager's contract, there are provisions," he replied. "I'm unaware what mine are and, if I did, I wouldn't disclose you regardless! "I approach this role like I'll be Town's coach forever. I understand that's not invariably going to be the case, but I'll always give maximum effort as long as I am here." The Welsh Coach's Situation Bellamy represented the Hoops on temporary transfer from the Magpies in 2005, but the former Welsh striker is inclined to finish the current World Cup qualification, a stance that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Glasgow position. Wales are presently third in their World Cup group behind leaders Belgium and runners-up North Macedonia. Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in next month would book their place in the final qualifying round, but they are all but assured of reaching that stage, due to a productive European competition performance, should they fail to finish as Group J runners-up. Considering his present stance, the Wales manager, whose agreement concludes after the European Championship, would not be available until following the play-offs at the earliest.
