Los Angeles witnessed citywide festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Fans across the globe united with Angelenos in jubilation, marking the initial time in 25 years that a team has secured back-to-back championships.

Victory Parade Attracts Massive Crowds

Los Angeles area events included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties across the city.

Social media videos depict thousands of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and team flags. The squad was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” the star player remarked through an interpreter.

The procession path ended at the stadium, where the players emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist driving a Pacific blue vintage Cadillac around the field.

Pre-Parade Festivities and Player Reactions

Festivities started prior to the parade, with supporters lighting flares in the streets of the city center on Sunday night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the MVP of the championship, spoke plainly about the victory.

“We refuse to lose,” he stated. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”

Mixed Reactions and Community Spirit

In contrast, Mark Walter received a less warm welcome at the rally. Video footage from the gathering appear to show him walking onstage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with jeers punctuating his speech.

The championship acted as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An approximate quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year showed as much if not more enthusiasm.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a involved in this.”
